BiomeSprite aspen-parkland.png: Sprite image for aspen-parkland in Minecraft Aspen Parkland

The aspen parkland is a golden forest biome consisting of regular and green aspen trees, morado bushes and small dry laurel trees. The ground is comprised of patches of coarse dirt and crustose, a golden grass-like block. Fallen aspen trees covered in crustose called crustose logs can also be found. Small patches of grass will spawn here, alongside golden growths, the crustose grass equivalent. Patches of poppies, dandelions and agave can also be found on the ground in this biome.

This biome was likely inspired by the real-life biome of the same name, found in southern Canada and small parts of the northern USA.

In real life, a dune just refers to a hill-like formation of sand, and these can be found all over the world. However, yucca trees are a variety of species known for being found natively in the Americas and the Caribbean and inhabit a variety of climates, though they are seen as growing best in the deserts of North America[1].

Trivia

  • Atmospheric was initially named Rosewood, and contained only the features related to the rainforests, which were called rosewood forests at the time. Kousa, dunes, aspen, and the hot springs were still planned, but also as separate mods named after the biomes themselves. After a single release of Rosewood for 1.14.4 on February 11th, 2020, it was completely rebranded as Atmospheric the next day.[2][3]
