Usage

Lava lamps primarily serve a decorative purpose. They can be placed on any surface of any block at any orientation. Unlike lanterns and braziers, they do not break when the supporting block is broken. When pushed by a piston, a lava lamp breaks.

Lava Lamps may be waterlogged. They will emit smoke particles when so.

Damage

If any player or entity makes contact with the lava part of a lava lamp, they will take 2♥ of fire damage every half a second and be set on fire for 15 seconds. This can be prevented by having the fire resistance effect. When a player dies from directly touching a lava lamp, they will receive a unique death message: "<player> felt the heat".

Light

Lava lamps emit a light level of 15, which causes them to melt snow layers within 2 blocks and ice within 3 blocks (taxicab distance).

Heat Source

Lava lamps are hot and can serve as a heat source for any cooking pots and skillets above.
