Golden Lava Bucket
Golden Lava Buckets from Caverns & Chasms are golden buckets that contain up to three source blocks of lava.
Obtaining
Bucket pickup
Main article: Lava Bucket § Interacting
By using an empty or half-filled golden buckets on a lava source or a lava cauldron, the bucket can be filled with lava. If the bucket already has lava in it, its filled level will increase by 1.
Usage
Main article: Water Bucket § Usage
All filled golden buckets can contain three instances of a fluid, represented by a "level" constant. When fluid is consumed, the bucket's level will decrease by 1. When fluid is added to the bucket, its level will increase by 1. When its level is 3, the bucket is full. If its level would decrease to 0, an empty golden bucket is returned.
Golden lava buckets can be used against a block to place a lava source there. If a bucket is not full, it can also be used to pick up lava sources. If players want to empty a bucket instead of picking up more lava, they can sneak-use the bucket instead.
As a golden lava bucket's filled level increases, its sprite will appear to have a larger capacity.
Fuel
Golden lava buckets can smelt up to 100 items per level. Therefore, a full golden bucket can smelt up to 300 items.
Cauldron
A golden water bucket can be used on a Cauldron to completely fill it with lava, overwriting its previous contents.
Dispenser
Main article: Golden Bucket § Dispenser
Dispensing filled golden water buckets will place a lava source in front of the dispenser. Dispensing a not-full golden lava bucket into a water source will pick up the fluid.
